Assignments
Homework Expectations:
You child will have up to 1 hour of homework each day. If class assignments are not completed during alloted class time, they will be sent home in addition to the regular homework assignments. Students who forget their homework will be responsible for completing assignments during recess and lunch.
It is very important that your child understands the importance of homework and is held responsible for the assignments. Please have a place where your child can work on his/her homework without any distractions. In addition to homework assignments, please encourage your child to read daily (both silently and aloud).
If the homework load seems too heavy or light, please notify me immediately. The children work at various paces, and I try my best to address every student's needs. If your child has worked on an assignment and does not understand it (especially math), he/she should set a 30 minute time limit and bring it back the following day for more clarification. Homework should not produce tears.
