Social Studies Project

Due: Tuesday, May 17, 2005 (may be submitted earlier)

Assignment Guidelines from Mr. Warner:

Our classes have been studying early California history in Social Studies - Native Americans, early exploration, Spanish control and the missions, the rancho period, the Gold Rush, etc.

As a class project - either as individuals or in small groups, the students have been assigned to build or make replicas or models of some aspect of early California history.

Some examples are:

The students are also assigned to write a short report (about one page) about how their projects fits into California history, as well as a description about how they made it.

Materials to use may be of the students' choosing.  Cardboard, hard paper or clay dough have been used successfully on previous projects.  A sturdy base ( one that get through the door) is needed for a large project.

Students will be graded on:

The Social Studies project will be DUE by Tuesday, May 17, but may be turned in before.  This will be in time for Open House display.
