Speech: Vacation / Plan A Trip
Choose one topic for your speech. Don't forget to prepare notecards and practice!
Vacation
Assignment:
Describe to the class a special vacation you've taken.
Talk about:
- Where you went
- Preparation for the trip
- What you took
- How you got there
- What you did while there
- Special events or highlights of your trip
Show any souvenirs or photos
Plan A Trip
Assignment:
Plan a trip anywhere (must be possible) you would like to go for a vacation. If you've never been there, you'll have to find out information about your planned destination.
Talk about:
- Where you would like to go
- Preparation needed for the trip
- What you will take
- How you will get there
- What you will do there
Bring in any photos of your planned destination
Remember:
Your speech should be 1-3 minutes in length.
Be sure to use 3x5 index cards to prepare your speech - only write 2-3 key words or phrases, not sentences to be used as prompts!
Practice your speech - work on projecting your voice and having good eye contact.
